Fueled by the ethos “be who you needed when you were younger,” Dr. Brooke Rundle founded Headstrong Mindset to champion elite athletes through sports counseling and mental performance consulting. Drawing from her own journey as a former NCAA Division I All-American and professional volleyball player, Dr. Rundle blends evidence-based sport psychology with a multimodal, athlete-centered approach to nurture the mind, emotions, behaviors, and performance of every client.
With over two decades in volleyball, including at the professional level in the U.S., Europe, and Central America, Dr. Rundle now works with USA Volleyball’s National Team Development Program and NCAA teams across sports such as soccer, softball, baseball, tennis, track & field, lacrosse, and more.
While Dr. Rundle specializes in mental coaching for athletes, she also offers sports counseling and LGBTQ counseling in Colorado. Her counseling practice is characterized by working alongside clients to explore identity and avenues for growth while fostering an affirmative, trauma-informed and supportive environment.
A passionate advocate for social justice, Dr. Rundle spent a decade in Nicaragua focused on service, language immersion, community impact, and founding The Casa Llanta Fund—raising over $125,000 to expand access to sports, education, and employment across Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Puerto Rico.
Now based in Denver, Colorado, Dr. Rundle resides with her wife Hannah and their dog, Stevie Budd. She loves playing guitar, skiing the Rockies, surfing in Central America, gardening, concerts at Red Rocks, fantasy literature, and connecting with friends over great food.
